The section of BIOENGINEERING was established by the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Humanities and Education of the Technical University in Liberec as a section of the Department of Chemistry on February 1, 2019. The head of the Department of Chemistry entrusted the management of the Bioengineering section to a professor David Lukáš.
Bioengineering is a dynamically developing engineering discipline based on interdisciplinary cooperation. The task of the Bioengineering section is to teach students in fields of study with access to this scientific discipline and to make contact with engineering disciplines with physical and biological scientists with a focus on cell and tissue engineering and especially on the development of biomaterials. Of course, the research carried out here, is also related to this area.
